Sunijah Huang, a seventh-grade student from the YES Academy enjoys
learning support for students who might be injured and need to be placed in
recovery position.
Sunijah Huang is currently struggling with a disability she sustained during the early stages of her life. When she was only 5 years old, according to her parents, “Sunijah got ill and we took her to the health center for treatment. However, the nurse who administered the medication mistakenly broke the syringe in her leg, we tried getting it out but it was difficult and took some time before we did since we did not have enough fund to seek advance medical care. After few months, she started to
shivers excessively and could not speak clearly and walk like before.” Even with
her condition, Sunijah is happy to learned basic life support skills to assist
colleagues on campus.
