Collaborating Against Poverty (CAP) Liberia is a cutting-edge non-profit organization dedicated to improving emergency care to underserved communities at the primary and tertiary levels. CAP is working to achieve the SDG #17 by building partnerships with similar organizations and subsequently implementing community projects in underserved neighborhoods. Our mission is to achieve Sustainable Development Goal #17 by forging partnerships with like-minded organizations and executing community projects in areas that lack essential services.
CAP was officially established in 2022, although it has been operating since August 2020. It was founded when leaders from various organizations came together through focus group discussions, conducted research, identified common gaps within Liberian local non-profit organizations, and proposed solutions. This led to the establishment of CAP with the aim of fostering partnerships among civil servants and youth organizations in Liberia.
Our primary objective is to bridge the gap in national health corridors. To achieve this, we focus on establishing emergency care programs and enhancing the relationship between nurses and patients through various motivational initiatives and award programs. As an active NGO, we are dedicated to not just planning, but also implementing hands-on projects to effectively accomplish our goals.
This requires meticulous planning, effective communication, and extensive local involvement for each project. In addition to collaborating with similar organizations to achieve the remaining sixteen SDGs in Liberia, CAP operates in two main areas:
1. Primary/Emergency Care through the establishment of first aid ambassador program in secondary schools
2. Enhancing nurses and patients’ relationship through nurses motivation and award programs

Description:
Collaborating Against Poverty (CAP) Liberia is implementing the Davis project for peace in Liberia. The project aims to advocate for emergency care services and improve such services by increasing the availability of first responders in remote communities with an emphasis on secondary schools. The current project will capacitate secondary students and administrators with basic first aid knowledge and hands-on skills to manage emergency health situations while awaiting professionals. The project is currently being implemented in lower Margibi County.
